Dear reader,
My name is Heather Stephenson and I have created this site to aid in the search for a position utilizing my education, skills, and interests. In addition to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English and Communications, I have more than six years of experience in digital and print editing, promotional copywriting, and visual content design. Of these years, I hold two years of experience writing marketing copy for higher education and three years of experience writing in a marketing environment.
Over the years as a writer, editor, and content manager, I have produced, arranged, and edited creative marketing copy and informational content while collaborating with clients and employers to determine expectations, deadlines, project scope, and necessary resources. Additionally, I have led a diverse team of designers and marketers in the development of a marketing materials available to a broad audience both domestic and international.
As a public relations writer and liaison, I have interacted with the public, attended events, conducted interviews, authored press releases, created key figure profiles, and designed and implemented marketing materials both print and digital.
My skillset includes excellent written and verbal communication with a high attention to detail and professionalism. I am comfortable with basic photographic assignments as well as page layout and marketing design. I have some experience with basic HTML and CSS including concerns for accessibility compliance and, as you can see from this site, I have experience with WordPress.
